Garden Route Game Lodge
Garden Route Game Lodge is delighted to announce the latest addition to its accommodation portfolio, Sunset Ridge Luxury Rooms. Aptly named for its location, the five luxury free standing rooms are perched atop a small ridge and offer 180 degree views of the game reserve with magical sunsets. Sunset Ridge now joins the existing portfolio of rooms and chalets offered by the Big 5 game reserve. Access to the 5 new units is exclusively via private golf cart transfer from reception by your game ranger. Designed by local architect Sylvie Vantillard with input from Nicholas Plewman the free standing rooms have a Karoo meets Game Reserve appeal. The site appropriate design ensures that living areas as well as bathrooms enjoy north facing views of the game reserve, while a south entry and north facing layout provides that wow factor upon entering each unit as the game reserve reveals itself beyond the stacking glass doors. The contemporary design is softened by the use of locally sourced natural stone and locally harvested bluegum poles and latte. Our spacious Lodge rooms combine luxury and comfort with an African theme. Complete with en-suite bathrooms. These rooms are ideal for families. The malaria-free Garden Route Game Lodge offers Day Visitors a chance to experience some of Africa’s wildlife as they journey down the Garden Route.
Enjoy a thrilling game drive in an open Landrover with your experienced game ranger who will bring you sightings of lion, elephant, white rhino, buffalo and cheetah.
Garden Route Game Lodge is also home to giraffes, zebra and numerous antelope species such as bontebok, red hartebeest, kudu, eland, impala, springbuck and many more.
Complete your day visit with a relaxing lunch on the wooden deck of our stunning Serengeti’s Restaurant which looks out over the game reserve. Savour one of our famous traditional South African dishes from our a la carte menu and a refreshing drink as you reflect on the day’s activity.
