The Karoo Poort Guesthouse is conveniently located along the R60 and just 2 km from the N1 in the heart of Worcester. Worcester is a town situated in the Cape Winelands of the Western Cape, 120 km from Cape Town.
It lies in the Breede River Valley, between the rugged Du Toitskloof and Hex River mountains. The Worcester region accounts for about 20 per cent of the country’s vineyards, making it one of South Africa's most important wine-producing areas. It is especially noted for its dry and semi-sweet white wines, dessert wines and brandy. The town is also a well-known education centre, and the Nuwe Hoop Centre for the Hearing Impaired, the Institute for the Blind and the Institute for the Deaf are located here.
The Karoo National Botanic Garden, just north of the town, specialises in succulent plants indigenous to the Karoo region.
