Area Info

Sandbaai is one of the newer suburbs in the Greater Hermanus area. The beach is the other drawcard. It comes dotted with rock pools, exciting little coves and popular snorkelling spots. There are also changing rooms, showers and safe swimming at low tide.

Just behind Sandbaai, the Hemel-en-Aarde village has a large variety of shops, farm stalls, galleries, studios, jewellers and restaurants, and the wine route is a popular way to spend most of a day, if not more. But it is Sandbaai's position, sandwiched between the sea and the slopes of the Onrust Mountains, between Onrus River and Hermanus, that places it in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
