The reserve is located 120 km northwest of Johannesburg central, 73 km from Lanseria International Airport, and 70 km from Pretoria central. The last 10 km is maintained sand road accessible without an SUV or 4x4 vehicle. The reserve venue is perfect for folks who love the bush and wildlife, and its configuration is also well-suited for private groups, retreats, mountain bike tours, and family gatherings. Children are welcome but under close adult supervision, as it is a natural environment with no specific children’s areas other than the pool. Self-catering and catering options are available. This is a unique getaway that has much to offer. There is an abundance of Marula Trees, Acacias, and other indigenous trees, plants and shrubs. The healthy balance of animals includes antelope species of Eland, Kudu, Nyala, Impala, Common Duiker, Waterbuck, Springbok, Blue and Golden Wildebeest as well as species of Zebra and Giraffe. Reptile, Insect, and small Cat species are very much a part of the natural habitat. Birdlife is stunning with both year-long and migratory residents. A large earth dam is home to a breeding pair of Verreaux Eagles, and the Spotted Eagle Owl, Pearl Spotted Owl, and African Scops Owl frequent the accommodation “hub” at seasonal times. Accommodation comprises 4 individually decorated chalets that can sleep 2 to 5 persons. Queen bed or single bed configurations are available. Each chalet features an en-suite bathroom with a shower or a separate bath and shower, sitting area, and comfortable outdoor patio seating. Inside amenities include coffee/tea stations, ceiling fans, and refrigerators. Luxury chalets have a kitchenette with induction stove, wash-up sink, crockery and cutlery. All guests enjoy access to shared areas within the main “hub” including the refreshing 12.5 m salt-chlorinated outdoor swimming pool with deck loungers and umbrellas, well-appointed kitchen/dining facility, large outdoor braai/BBQ, and serene rock lounge. The grounds and dwellings offer views of wild game from multiple locations, and the birdlife is incredibly active. An electrified security fence surrounds the “hub” for added peace of mind. Activities are available outside of the "hub" on well-maintained sand roads within the reserve. These include self-guided nature walks, bird watching, and game viewing on foot, trail running, and mountain bike cycling. The mountain biking opportunities extend even beyond the reserve for cyclists who might want a longer ride. Activity Extras include guided walks and cycling rides as well as game drives. There are a limited number of bicycles to rent. For health, wellness and well-being, take a Yin-Yang yoga class with mats provided, or elect massage therapy for muscle fatigue and stress treatment.
