Springgrove Estate
Springgrove Estate is situated in the heart of Mpumalanga’s New Scotland District, named after hardy Scottish settlers who were granted a concession over an area from Chrissiesmeer to the Swaziland border in the 1870’s by President Pretorius of the Transvaal Republic. The farm has been in the same family for generations. The estate comprises a private timber farm 35 kilometers from Chrissiesmeer and approximately 2½ hours by car from Gauteng in a malaria free environment. For the guest who wishes to fly in, we have a well maintained grass runway 1,200 metres long. We can also offer fly-in packages for those who wish to spend as much time as possible in this piece of unspoilt nature. The farm is close to the Swaziland border for those who wish to visit the Kingdom for a day’s outing (be sure to pack your passport should you wish to do so). Springgrove Estate lies at an elevation of almost 2000 metres and the climate is generally sunny but cool (especially night time).

Lothair is a village located 65 kilometres northeast of Ermelo and 29 kilometres southeast of Chrissiesmeer, in the Msukaligwa Local Municipality in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Situated on the Bonny Brook in an area settled by Scottish immigrants, it was surveyed in 1878 and named after Lothair, the novel written by Benjamin Disraeli and published in 1870.
Lothair is s typical timber area and houses a small community that depends on working on the farms/plantations for a living.
