The Artist Cottage
The house contains two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and comfortably sleeps four or five. Downstairs has a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. An open-plan dining area, kitchen and a big inside fireplace, built in the old-fashioned way. Upstairs is a loft bedroom, which is accessible via stairs inside the house. The loft consists of three single beds, a bathroom and an open standing Victorian bath. Outside is a newly built "karoo" - style firepit to be enjoyed by our guests.

Sutherland's awe inspiring skies are but one of the attractions for visiting. It's in the middle of nowhere - obviously or those night skies wouldn't be what they are - which means people visit here to escape from everything, and it's also one of the coldest towns in the country (other than Bufffelsfontein) with frequent snow falls during winter, the looming Roggeveld Mountains bedecked in snow.
