Upper House is situated within walking distance of the town square which offers a variety of wonderful restaurants, quaint stores, art galleries, pottery painting and the very unique Clarens Parfumerie. The town hosts a variety of annual festivals, outdoor markets and specialist workshops. Guests are able to easily access hiking routes into the Clarens Conservancy Nature trails. Clarens is a short drive away from the mighty Golden Gate National Park which offers more hiking trails and romantic sunset drives and the spectacular Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretation Centre, a state-of-the-art facility showcasing the region's paleontological and geological history, with a focus on the oldest known dinosaur embryos discovered in the area. For the adventure seekers, the town offers various outdoor activities at the Clarens Extreme.
