Sandown Lodge
Sandown Lodge is an elegant 18th-century Georgian house, built around 1865, and has been welcoming guests for nine years. The owners reside on the property and take great pleasure in engaging with guests, creating a personal and homely environment. We pride ourselves on offering friendly and warm hospitality, ensuring that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Our high number of repeat guests and regular customers is a testament to our friendly and professional service, as well as our convenient location. Accommodation is provided in three spacious suites, each featuring its own en-suite bathroom and a small kitchenette. With 100% cotton percale linen, electric blankets, and quality beds, a good night’s sleep is assured. Start your day with delicious homemade rusks, perfect with your early morning tea or coffee. The guest suites offer access to a charming, secluded garden and braai area, beautifully dominated by a majestic Oak tree. The shade of the tree, along with the entertainment from numerous squirrels scurrying for acorns, provides a peaceful setting for an early morning breakfast, afternoon tea, or an evening braai.
Area Info
We are located in the suburb of Rondebosch, 9 km from Cape Town city centre. It is well known as the leafy suburb of Cape Town with lovely old tress and beautiful views of Table Mountain. The University of Cape Town, Newlands Cricket Stadium, Cavendish Square Shopping Centre and Western Province Cricket Club are all within 3 km from us. Shops, restaurants, a pharmacy and public transport facilities are all within easy walking distance from our lodge. We are a 15 minute drive from the airport and airport shuttles can be arranged on request.

Self-catering Suite

This spacious suite has a comfortable King size bed (which can convert into twin beds upon request), a large flat screen TV, built in cupboards, a dressing table and a large en-suite bathroom with a Victorian bath and walk in shower.
Family Suite
Guests: 4
Consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom (with a shower) and a small kitchen/dining area. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has one or two single beds, depending on guest’s specific requirements.
Upstairs Suite
Guests: 2
The spacious upstairs suite is beautifully furnished with a king size bed and an en suite bathroom with a walk in shower. There is a comfortable lounge/desk/dining area and small kitchenette. The suite is accessible via a staircase overlooking our garden.
