Maninghi Lodge
At the Lodge, we offer two en-suite River View rooms, one of which features an extended bedroom suitable for a maximum of two children, and one en-suite Garden View room. All rooms are tastefully decorated to complement the beautiful surroundings and include a mini-bar, coffee/tea station, and air conditioning for your comfort. Additionally, we have two Safari Tents that are fully equipped with lights and plug points. The bathroom, located 30 metres from the tents, is shared among a maximum of four guests. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, accessible in both the rooms and tents. If you are part of a larger group, we can accommodate up to 12 guests. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements. The lodge boasts a delightful outdoor seating area, as well as an inviting indoor dining room, bar, and lounge for our guests to enjoy. Our fantastic outdoor pool, overlooking the Olifants River, is perfect for cooling off on warm summer days and offers a splendid spot for game viewing. Relax and unwind as you watch animals come down to drink at the river or observe birds feeding in our two magnificent sycamore fig trees.

Balule Nature Reserve is a protected area in Limpopo Province, South Africa, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. As part of a wildlife conservation initiative, all fences separating these associated reserves - Balule, Timbavati, Klaserie, Umbabat - and the Kruger National Park have been removed. Conservation efforts have ensured that the wildlife population includes all of the Big Five game: Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhinoceros.
The Reserve is just under 60,000 hectares, and is home to over 30 species of mammal, and the variety of birdlife in the Reserve is some of the best in the country, offering over 340 different species, including the Big Six (Kori Bustard, Ground Hornbill, Lappet-faced Vulture, Pels Fishing Owl, Marshal Eagle and Saddle-billed Stork).
Located in the subtropical Lowveld, the Reserve contains multiple eco-zones, resulting in a significant variation in the flora with over 336 documented tree species in the region. Baobab trees, leadwood, knob thorns, marula and mopane trees are dominant species in this wooded savannah.
The diverse flora accommodates a diverse array of fauna. The rivers and other watering holes are home to hippos and crocodiles. Maninghi is fortunate to be situated on the banks of the Olifants River, which flows through the Game Reserve, and attracts a wide variety of different animals.
