Each tent has a standing fan as well as tea/coffee facilities. The Luxury tents each have their own bar fridge and a desk. The main Lapa area consists of a lounge, dining area, and bar area. A fireplace in the lounge area and an outdoor rock pool overlooking a watering hole complimenting the entire Camp. SanWild is a remarkable Big Five wildlife sanctuary in a pristine 3,000-hectare (7,400-acre) private game reserve in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Unlike other game lodges and reserves, SanWild offers visitors a unique opportunity to visit and participate in a working wildlife sanctuary. Our guests are treated as part of our extended family, socialising around the campfire, exchanging stories and participating in our conservation projects. South African home-cooked meals are served around a large dining table in our comfortably furnished lodge. Accommodation is provided in Luxury and Standard Safari Tents with en-suite bathrooms, giving new meaning to the word "Glamping" in the African Wilderness. Enjoy lounging on our wooden deck with a swimming pool overlooking the waterhole where wildlife comes to quench their thirst. Elephants, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, and many other species call SanWild home. Many of our rescued animals have names and intriguing stories that we can't wait to share with you. We can arrange sundowners at the lookout point on one of the mountains overlooking Kruger National Park and Mozambique in the far distance or a bush braai (BBQ) after an evening game drive in the middle of the wilderness under a star-lit sky. Home-cooked breakfasts and dinners, including soft drinks, are included in your stay. Dinners are prepared in typical South African fashion as a social event where everyone gets together around the campfire. Part of our cooking happens outside in our "Lapa" (Fire Pit), with traditional South African dishes prepared on open flames or in cast iron pots. South Africans are world-renowned for our "Braaivleis" (BBQ) and "Potjiekos" (Meaty Stews), and the preparation of these meals are an adventure by themselves. Breakfasts are catered around our guests' preferences, whether it's an early bird meal or a late morning brunch. Typical Continental or English breakfasts are available and will be pre-arranged as part of your reservation. As our guests, you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you want; it's your adventure, and home-cooked South African food is part of it. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements when you book your stay with us, as all meals are planned ahead of time. INCLUDED: * Accommodation for two adults * Breakfast and Dinner * Softdrinks * Game Drive EXCLUDED (Invoiced Separately after your stay): * Alcoholic Beverages * Additional beds for children under 12 sharing a luxury tent with parents * Excursions or tours with third-party service providers For the more adventurous and less squeamish, come help us feed our rescued lions and hyenas. If dark paces and bats don't scare you, sign-up to explore one of the hand-dug 150-year-old gold mine shafts with one of our rangers. These mines date back to a forgotten gold rush era that saw explorers from around the globe heading to the wilderness in search of riches that never materialised. SanWild is a different destination for travellers who want to mingle with the locals and become involved in conservation. As a registered non-profit organisation, all proceeds of the lodge and activities go towards managing the Sanctuary and rescuing wildlife, a passion we have that we hope to share with you.

Area Info

SanWild is located between the small village of Gravelotte and the historic gold rush town of Leydsdorp next to the Giant Baobab Tree. Officially the smallest city in the world, Leydsdorp has only 2 permanent residents. This little ghost town still boasts a haunted graveyard, hotel, and bar from where President Paul Kruger governed the country during the second Boer War in the late 1800s
